Our Environmental Health Department at NET Health is committed to promoting a healthy community by preventing illness and encouraging safe practices. Through teamwork and diligent effort, we aim to safeguard public health by implementing comprehensive retail food, public swimming pool/spa, and general sanitation protection programs.
We ensure a safe and healthy environment for the citizens of Smith County and City of Bullard.
Retail Food Protection Program
Our Retail Food Protection Program permits and inspects food establishments (such as restaurants, Mobile Food Units, grocery stores and farmers markets) and responds to complaints of unsanitary conditions or foodborne illness outbreaks.
Our Commercial Aquatic Health & Safety Program permits and inspects public pools, spas and other types of aquatic facilities and responds to complaints of unsafe or unsanitary conditions or waterborne illness outbreaks.
Our Licensed Care Facilities Program permits and inspects facilities licensed by Texas Health & Human Services that require an annual Health and Sanitation Inspection. Additionally this program responds to complaints of unsafe or unsanitary conditions or communicable illness outbreaks.
Our General Environmental Health Program handles applications and inspections for requested health & sanitation inspections, investigates public nuisances that contribute to disease transmission between people and, provides administrative support across the division, and supports workforce development, code compliance, and continuous improvement.
